Shrewsbury Hospital | Administration | Permanent | Full Time

£24,043.50 per annum

37.5 hours per week

The Outpatients Administrator will be responsible for effectively and efficiently administering a large caseload of patients from referral to discharge, ensuring the company is able to meet / exceed their service deliverables from a quantitative and qualitative perspective for all referrers at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure complex administration and support meets all required standards and timescales.

  • To manage, appraise, and interpret data, information and /or situations.

  • To handle all enquires, or queries raised efficiently and effectively, escalating appropriately where necessary.

  • To ensure all data/information is entered, modified, maintained and presented accurately and efficiently using the appropriate electronic or manual system and format.

  • To prepare standard and adhoc reports as requested and required by the department

To provide clinic support, including but not limited to:

  • The provision of professional patient and consultant liaisons

  • Appointment bookings and changes

  • Co-ordination of room /consultant availability

  • Consultant/GP partnerships

  • Create, alter or cancel clinics as required to support business needs

The person

As an experienced Customer Service individual you will have the following skills;

  • Previous experience working in a fast paced customer service environment

  • Demonstrable ability to prioritise and organise a workload of changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent telephone manner

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, bespoke database

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • An understanding of the importance of policies and operating procedures
