About the role
Join Our Rail Team in Colchester – Fitter Opportunity!
Are you ready to take your mechanical skills to the next level? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Fitter to join our dynamic Rail team at our Colchester depot!
In this hands-on role, you’ll be at the heart of maintaining and repairing our cutting-edge On-Track Machinery (OTMs), ensuring they’re operating at peak performance and reliability. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in getting things “right first time,” we want to hear from you!
What you'll be doing
The successful candidate will:

Carrying out maintenance and repairs on OTMs in line with company procedures and deadlines.

Producing clear verbal and written reports on faults, repairs, maintenance, accidents, and incidents.

Ensuring OTMs are reliable and ready for action post-maintenance.

Diagnosing faults and delivering effective, first-time fixes.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
- NVQ level 3 Qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering
- A served recognised apprenticeship
- PTS and DP
- Able to work to timescales/deadlines
- Awareness of Health & Safety
- Stores knowledge
