This is a Fixed Term position until April 2030 working full-time.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading mental health research team that has secured over £40M in joint funding over the last five years. Led by Professor Ann John, the team focuses on child and adolescent mental health and suicide and self-harm prevention. Professor Ann John is the Director of the newly awarded National Centre for Suicide Prevention and Self-Harm Research, Chair of the National Advisory Group on Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention to the Welsh Government, a member of SAGE, and Co-Director of DATAMIND, the Health Data Research UK Hub for Mental Health.

The National Centre for Suicide Prevention and Self-Harm Research, led by Swansea University in collaboration with Cardiff University, the University of South Wales, and The Samaritans, will revolutionise suicide and self-harm prevention by translating cutting-edge research into real-world impact.

You will join a highly multidisciplinary where you will apply your research, analytical and/or programming expertise to answer questions related to suicide and self-harm by analysing a world-class population-level dataset containing billions of records using a mix of traditional and novel analytical methodologies.

We are seeking an organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated Research Officer, with a track record of producing publications and experience in analysing large relational datasets to join the team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to carry out innovative research that will make a real-world impact on suicide and self-harm prevention.
