Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring leader, who is passionate about quality, patient-centred care and improving services. This is a new General Manager position within the Women’s Health divisional management team.
The postholder will work alongside the existing General Manager across Breast and Gynaecology services to establish 1 WTE Breast and Gynaecology General Manager and 1 WTE Gynaecology General Manager. The exact service portfolio will be agreed depending on the skills and experience of the new and existing appointee to provide senior leadership across the division.
The successful candidate must be committed and collaborative and able to lead the operational delivery of services and drive service innovations and transformation, delivery against national RTT and CWT targets and ensuring an outstanding service for our patients. The Breast surgery outpatient service runs from the Macmillan Cancer Centre. The Oncoplastic Breast Unit provides a responsive diagnostic and treatment service.
This service is delivered through a multidisciplinary approach between pathology, radiology, surgery, medical oncology and radiotherapy, including care throughout from specialist breast cancer nurses. The gynaecology service at UCLH, in association with The Institute for Women's Health, has a national and international reputation for providing advice and treatment to women requiring a wide range of both general and specialist care throughout their lives.

- Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology
- Reproductive Medicine/Fertility
- Menopause
- Gynae-oncology
- Colposcopy
- Urogynaecology (including bladder dysfunction and complex mesh removal)
- Endometriosis
Reporting to the Divisional Manager, the General Manager is responsible for the operational management of the Gynaecology, Gynae-oncology and/or Breast services, and the delivery of performance targets including finance, activity and workforce, and others as applicable; this includes accountability for cancer and referral to treatment waiting times standards.
The General Manager is also a key stakeholder in the Gynae-oncology and Breast NCL Clinical Networks, collaborating with the Cancer Alliance and counterparts in acute trusts to achieve service transformation for cancer services.
