My renewable energy client is seeking an experienced Finance/Accounting Assistant in relation to the construction of a major power plant in Yorkshire.

Role - Finance/Accounting Assistant
Project Type - New build energy project
Location - Yorkshire
Start Date - ASAP
Duration - 6 Months (possible extension)
Rates - Circa £300 - £350 per day
Hours - Monday to Friday 08.00 - 16.00 or 09.00 - 17.00. Must be flexible to work extra hours during the week and Saturday when required.
Key responsibilities

  • Record and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
  • Assist maintaining current and forecasted Cash Flow and P&L using internal reporting tools in Excel
  • Assist updating the project budget and allocating purchase orders to the correct WBS categories
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management


Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel & Power Point is necessary. Experience in data visualisation software (i.e. Power Bi) is an advantage.
  • Similar experience in large scale construction related projects is an advantage.
  • Understanding of basic project finance principles, cost control, and budgeting
  • Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
