mybatsurvey.co.uk is a fast-growing ecological consultancy specialising in bat surveys, Preliminary Roost Assessments (PRA), Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), and dusk/dawn emergence surveys. We are committed to high-quality reporting, exceptional client service, and wildlife conservation. As demand for our services grows, we are looking for passionate ecologists to join our team on a flexible basis.
The Role
We are seeking ecologists (junior or experienced) to assist with a range of ecological surveys, including:
Preliminary Roost Assessments (PRA)
Dusk and dawn bat emergence/re-entry surveys
Habitat surveys and Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA)
Supporting ecological reporting and site assessments
This is a flexible freelance role suitable for both seasoned ecologists and those seeking to build experience in the industry.
Requirements
CIEEM membership or accreditation (preferred but not essential).
Knowledge of UK bat species and ecology.
Strong understanding of Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) guidelines.
Ability to work evenings (especially during bat active season, May–September).
Full UK driving licence and own transport (preferred).
Excellent communication and note-taking skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
