Job Title: Approved Electrician
Reports To: Electrical Supervisor
Location: St John Wood, North West London
Salary: £26.00 per hour
Job Type: Contract
Job Purpose:
To carry out electrical installation, maintenance works to a high standard in accordance with current regulations, safety standards, and company procedures. The Approved Electrician is expected to work independently, supervise junior staff or apprentices, and take responsibility for ensuring that work is completed efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial environment.

Carry out inspection and testing of electrical installations to BS7671 standards.

Ensure compliance with current IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).

Read and interpret electrical drawings, technical diagrams, and site plans.

Prepare and complete job-related documentation, certificates, and reports.

Supervise and mentor electricians and apprentices on site.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety policies and procedures.

Liaise with clients, site managers, and other contractors as needed.

Identify materials and resources needed for each job and ensure efficient use.

Diagnose faults and carry out remedial works as required.

Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).

City & Guilds 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification.

ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician grade).

Proven experience working as an electrician in a similar role.

Experience with single and three-phase systems.

Desirable Qualifications:
CompEx certification (for hazardous areas).

IPAF card.

Emergency lighting, fire alarm systems experience.

AM2 qualification.
