Hours/Contract: Permanent, Full Time
This role will be working 37 hours, 6am-2pm Monday to Friday, predominantly based at Millbank, South Shields, but will cover various locations across Gateshead, Sunderland, and South Tyneside. (Vehicle provided)

The role

Our Business Services team keep things running smoothly for all of us here at Northumbria Police. They are a large team covering various services, including maintenance, health and safety, and supporting Front Line Policing. Sound like a team you’d like to work with? This could be the perfect time to join us as a Cleaning Team Supervisor.
Our Cleaning team are responsible for ensuring our buildings are clean and safe for employees, visitors, and members of the public. In this role you’ll be supervising a team of cleaners, making sure they meet service delivery standards and adhere to health and safety regulations.
What you’ll do
Manage your team by mentoring and supporting them, to ensure they achieve the required standards and performance.
Carry out regular audits and inspections to check the quality of cleaning is satisfactory.
Train and coach your team to deliver excellent work.
Plan and organise resourcing of your team.
Implement and manage the attendance management procedure.
Carry out stock audits.
Recruitment and selection of new employees.
Liaise with management to deliver an exceptional service to the force.

What you’ll bring
Excellent planning and organisation skills
A full manual driving licence (vehicle provided).
Experience of resourcing and planning work schedules.
The ability to problem-solve quickly.
Great team working skills.
Strong ability to work with a diverse range of people.
Knowledge of cleaning health and safety and COSHH.
Ideally, we’d like you to have supervised people previously, however if you are motivated to learn we’d still love to hear from you.
