Crynodeb
Band 7 echocardiographers are encouraged to undergo a period of training in at least one of the following specialist areas: Physiologist/Scientist-led Valve Clinics, Stress Echocardiography, Contrast and Bubble Echo, Maternity Echo, CRT clinic or inpatient echo triage. Those with the right level of experience and knowledge in these areas can apply to become a sub-speciality lead, where they will work with the lead echocardiographer to develop the service (writing SOPs, performing audits etc) during dedicated admin sessions. We are a large training department hosting students from the Practitioner, Scientist and Echo Training Programmes. We expect all band 7s to be involved with the training of junior physiologists/doctors, as well as participating in quality assurance, audits and weekly educational meetings.
