The Best Connection are an Employment Business recruiting for this role on behalf of our client.
Our client is one of the UK's largest commercial Geopost businesses and operate a depot near York, YO26.
Our client has a vacancy for a VAN COURIER COLLECTION DRIVER for an immediate start.
You must meet certain criteria in order to apply for this role,
THE CRITERIA IS :
- MUST HAVE A UK LICENCE HELD FOR MORE THAN 1 YEAR.
- MUST BE OVER 21 YEARS OF AGE FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES.
- NO MORE THAN 6 MINOR POINTS.
- NO DR, DD OR CD ENDORSEMENTS.
- MUST HAVE PREVIOUS MULTI DROP COURIER EXPERIENCE.
- MUST HAVE A SMART PHONE WITH NFC FUNCTION.
- MUST BE PREPARED TO FULFILL HISTORIC REFERENCING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS
- MUST BE PREPARED TO APPLY FOR A DBS CHECK WHEN THE ASSIGNMENT REACHES 13 WEEKS
- MUST BE PREPARED TO WORK WEEKENDS IF REQUESTED TO DO SO
The role will require the van courier driver to work 5 days, Monday to Friday but some weekend cover may be required. Start work at 07.00 in the morning and load their van if there are some deliveries to be done before starting the collections. Each parcel must be scanned with their smart phone as they load. The smart phone app will then work out the most efficient delivery route & order for the parcels on the van. The driver must then follow this route making the few deliveries as required. Once the deliveries are complete the driver then starts the collection round. Drivers will be kept in the same postcode area as much as possible but may be requested to cover other areas if the business needs this.
PAY : £ 12.21 PER HOUR
