About the Role:
Long Term Futures is seeking a calm, caring and proactive Intervention Assistant to help support student progress and emotional well‑being. You will assist with interventions across key stages, ensuring pupils receive tailored support both one‑to‑one and in small groups.
You will be working with a mixed-age group of students aged 7-19 with a range of additional needs, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism, and associated challenging behaviours. The ability to build trusting relationships and adapt your support style is essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted intervention programmes under the guidance of the class teacher
- Monitor pupil progress, maintain accurate records, and adapt support plans accordingly
- Support pupils both in class and during unstructured times (break and lunch)
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff, SENCo, and external professionals to identify and address needs
- Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour through consistent and patient support
Who We're Looking For:
- Experience in a role supporting students with additional needs
- Good understanding of intervention techniques and strategies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Level 3 qualification in Education or relevant equivalent desirable
