Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you the kind of graduate who doesn’t just want experience — you want to make an impact?

A progressive secondary school in Brent is looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant who’s ready to be more than just a helping hand. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity (September–July) for a graduate with drive, empathy, and ambition — someone who sees education as a powerful tool for change.

What You’ll Be Doing:

This role goes beyond basic classroom support. You'll work closely with students who are not quite where they need to be — whether that’s academically, socially, or emotionally. Your role is to help bridge those gaps, one conversation, one session, one breakthrough at a time.

You will:

• Run small group interventions to boost confidence and performance in key subjects
• Offer 1:1 support to students who need additional guidance
• Help teachers create inclusive, engaging learning environments
• Track progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Be a mentor, a motivator, and sometimes just a person who listens

This is a chance to understand how a school really works — from pastoral support to learning strategies — and discover whether teaching is your calling.

What We’re Looking For:

• A graduate (any subject considered), ideally with a 2:2 or above
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
• A confident communicator with emotional intelligence
• Someone who’s resilient, reflective, and up for a challenge
• Previous experience working with young people is a bonus, but not essential

Why This School?

• Based in Brent, walking distance from well-connected stations
• Diverse, lively student population who respond well to strong relationships
• Supportive staff culture that invests in its people
• Regular CPD and optional teacher training pathways for future educators
• A school where you’ll matter — and so will the work you do

Pay & Details:

• Up to £600 per week (dependent on experience)
• Full-time role, Monday to Friday, term time only
• 1-year fixed-term contract via KPI Education, starting September 2025
• Weekly pay and ongoing support from your KPI consultant

If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and learn what it really takes to change lives through education, this could be your perfect next step.
