People Advisor
Location: Stoke
Duration: 6 month FTC
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Salary: £32,000 per annum
The role:
We are recruiting for a People Advisor on a six month fixed term contract for our client based in Stoke. You'll play a key role in delivering prompt, expert guidance to our managers throughout every stage of the employee lifecycle. This includes offering support on employee relations matters, managing recruitment processes, contributing to organisational change efforts, and promoting effective HR practices. Responsibilities:
Provide expert guidance and coaching to managers across the full spectrum of the employee lifecycle, including managing absence, handling employee relations matters, running effective recruitment campaigns, and supporting wellbeing initiatives
Oversee the distribution and progress of tasks assigned to People Administrators, ensuring queries are addressed promptly and efficiently
Lead and contribute to people-related projects and initiatives aimed at streamlining processes and promoting ongoing improvements across the function
Assist in the regular review and updating of People policies and procedures to ensure alignment with current employment legislation
Offer clarity to managers on how to apply and interpret People policies within their teams
Stay informed on evolving employment laws and HR best practices to ensure advice and practices remain current
Advise managers on organisational change processes, offering practical support through periods of transformation
Collaborate with the Learning and Development Officer to facilitate and support training and development opportunities across the organisation
Key Requirements:
Educated to A Level standard or equivalent qualification
Holds a relevant HR qualification and/or CIPD membership, or has substantial experience working in a professional HR environment
Proven track record of delivering HR advice and support, including hands-on experience managing employee relations matters
Solid understanding of employment legislation and how it applies in a practical workplace context
Exceptional communicator, able to engage confidently and clearly with individuals at all levels
Comfortable challenging ideas and decisions in a constructive and professional manner
Proficient in IT, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience using HR information systems
Capable of managing a busy workload, multitasking effectively and performing well under pressure
Supportive and motivating leadership style, with the ability to coach and guide team members
Demonstrates high levels of personal integrity, professionalism, and emotional resilience
