Summary

Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you a Geography graduate with a passion for education and a desire to make a real impact in the classroom?

A dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Brent is looking for a Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their Humanities faculty from September 2025. This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity for a recent graduate who wants to inspire the next generation — while gaining invaluable experience ahead of a future in teaching.

Why Geography? Why You?

You already know Geography is more than maps and capital cities — it’s about climate, culture, conflict, and connection. In this role, you’ll help students see the subject not just as part of the curriculum, but as a lens through which to understand the world.

As a Geography TA, you’ll:

• Support students in KS3 and KS4 Geography lessons
• Deliver small-group sessions and targeted interventions to boost subject knowledge and confidence
• Assist in fieldwork preparation, classroom activities, and resource development
• Work alongside experienced Humanities teachers to inspire curiosity and critical thinking
• Build strong relationships with students, offering mentorship and academic guidance

What We’re Looking For:

• A recent Geography graduate (2:2 or above)
• A genuine passion for the subject and for working with young people
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage a class
• A reflective, proactive mindset and a commitment to personal development
• Ideally, some experience working with students or in an educational setting (not essential)

Why This School?

• Based in Brent, with easy access via the Jubilee and Metropolitan Lines
• A Humanities department that values creativity, debate, and real-world connections
• Friendly, diverse school culture with high aspirations for all learners
• Excellent support network for graduates considering teacher training in 2026
• Regular CPD and mentoring provided throughout the year

What’s On Offer:

• Up to £600 per week, based on experience
• Full-time role, Monday to Friday, term-time only
• 1-year contract via KPI Education, with weekly pay
• Potential to progress onto salaried teacher training following the placement

If you’re ready to plant the seeds of global awareness and academic growth — and gain the classroom experience you need to kickstart your teaching career — this is your opportunity.
