We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Rehabilitation Assistant with a Postural Stability Qualification and experience in running strength & balance community based exercises classes as well as home based exercise programmes.

The Strength and Balance Team are a new service that is currently in the setting up phase across West Essex, Mid Essex, South West Essex and Castle Point & Rochford areas. We are looking for Bank only Postural Stability Instructor experienced staff that can start exercises classes across all areas in Essex mentioned above. This service is a prevention service providing patients with strategies and tools to prevent falls, we target the more independent patient (independent or walking with a stick or outdoor mobility aid) that may be at risk of falls or have had some falls in the past. As a Band 4 Rehabilitation Assistant you will have a caseload of community patients you will support to provide patient-centred treatments. Please ensure you meet the person specifications and have the relevant qualifications required for the role
• The post holder will work as a Rehabilitation Assistant Practitioner, supporting the delivery of highquality strength and balance interventions through routine clinical assessments, exercise
instruction, and patient-centred care across the designated localities.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Triaging referrals into the Falls Strength and Balance Exercise Service to ensure patients
meet the agreed eligibility criteria.
• Conducting initial face-to-face home assessments to determine suitability for either an
Otago-based home exercise programme or a Postural Stability Group Exercise Programme.
• Leading and delivering structured strength and balance home-based or group exercise
sessions in accordance with service guidelines.
• Ensuring full compliance with Trust policies, including health and safety requirements, lone
working procedures, infection prevention and control, and completion of all mandatory risk
assessments.
• Supporting the ongoing development, evaluation, and improvement of the Falls Strength and
Balance Exercise Service.
• Where appropriate, contributing to the development and assessment of competencies for
Band 3 unregistered support staff.
• Providing clinical supervision, mentorship, or task-based support to Band 3 unregistered
staff, if applicable.
• Travelling efficiently across multiple locations using own car to deliver care and fulfil service
commitments
