Job purpose
I am looking for a Personal Assistant/Carer to support me and allow my mum to have time to study and leave the house to do tasks.

About me
I am a very happy teenage boy with an incredible sense of humour! I am looking for someone with caring experience and a great sense of fun to spend time with and assist me with my personal care in my home and to play fun games/sensory play with me. I am a wheelchair user, and I have complex needs.
The successful candidate will be working in a pet and smoke free home.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting me with personal care
Using a hoist
Tube feeding using an Amika feeding pump
Administer medicine as required
Fun games and stories/sensory play/watching movies
Have a good sense of humour as this is for a very happy teenager with an amazing sense of humour!
Monitoring a video monitor if it is evening care

Personal Specification

Essential Criteria
CPD Manual Handling or equivalent
Ability to communicate well with high attention to detail
Can express good energy for sensory play & games
Ability to work unsupervised
Previous experience in a caring role
Good oral communication skills
Desirable Criteria
Manual Handling training
Someone that is creative and energetic
Fully trained with the Amika feeding pump
Knowledge of Makaton sign language
A good sense of humour

Summary terms and conditions
Hours, days and times of work: 10 hours per week during term time, 24 hours per week during the school holidays.
Hours/days to be agreed- this could be during the day, or an evening as required/agreed. We are flexible (except Tuesdays) and term time weekday hours would be from 4pm. Evening care and monitoring the video monitor would be from 7pm (you would not be required to do the bedtime routine).
Pay rate: £13.00 per hour
Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
