Operational Support Administrative Officer – Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and adaptable individual to join our Operational Support Team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the NVU and Inner London team with its delivery of specialist business rates assessment work, including handling the administrative aspects of the Check, Challenge, Appeal (CCA) process and Business rates list revaluations. You will provide customer service, manage casework, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the unit. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys varied work, problem-solving, and being part of a collaborative team.
Operational Support Administrative Officer – Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the NVU and Inner London maintenance, check and challenge teams in line with departmental procedures and service standards.
- Provide accurate and timely administrative support to enable assessment of specialist property classes.
- Deal with enquiries from internal and external customers by email, telephone and in writing.
- Maintain and update internal systems and databases to ensure accurate case tracking and management.
- Take ownership of specific work areas or administrative processes, identifying and implementing improvements where appropriate.
- Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with data protection and Civil Service code of conduct.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the team and wider department to share knowledge and resolve issues.
- Prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet deadlines and contribute to team goals.
- Undertake ad hoc tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn new procedures.
