Personal Assistant-Preston
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to provide support to 17 year old young woman who is autistic with a PDA profile and has Chronic Fatigue, within her own home.
As a Personal Assistant your duties will include, preparing food and prompting the client to eat and drink, provide companionship and engagement in meaningful discussions on her interests; including birds of prey, literature and politics. Support the client to advocate for herself and recognise when she may need a break. Ensure her needs are respected, help navigate emotions and self-regulation, and provide reassurance in stressful or overwhelming situations.
We are looking for a gentle and nurturing person. Trust and reliability are crucial. More than two years experience working with Neurodivergent young people, or adults is desirable. For example, teaching, counselling, youth work or mentoring experience. Lived experience or awareness of Chronic Fatigue / Illness, Autism, PDA is essential.
This is a part time position for 15 hours per week with an hourly rate of £12.21 plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and workplace pension scheme.
