You
will begin or continue your studies towards the AAT qualification, being
provided with paid day release to attend College.
We
will ensure you are fully supported throughout your studying at college, and
you will benefit from the support group of our current trainees.
Whilst
at work you will be supervised by experienced, qualified Accountants who will
help you step-by-step in understanding what is required to progress your career
as an Accountant.
Your
role will be very varied and aim to give you an all-round understanding of
accounts and tax, although will predominately be based in our accounts team
carrying out functions such as:
à
Assisting
clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping, becoming familiar with accounting
software
à
Assisting
clients submit their quarterly VAT returns
à
Producing
draft accounts, under the supervision of qualified accountants, for a range of
clients including sole trader, partnerships, charities, pension schemes and
limited companies
à
Assisting
other areas of the firm such as the audit team and taxation team as and when
required.
à
Provided
office administration support throughout the firm ensuring that our own firm’s
files are kept in order and assisting with various things such as reception and
back-office functions.

approx. £14,500
Training
STANDARD & LEVEL
The successful candidate will work towards completing the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Standard from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education. Delivered by Blackpool and The Fylde College offering expert tuition and exceptional facilities.

Your B&FC apprenticeship is made up of several different elements and each one reflects your individual abilities and career goals. Our expert tutors and assessors have relevant industry experience and will support you to achieve all your goals.
Off-the-job training
Developing your skills at work is called on-the-job training, 20% of your apprenticeship (equal to one full day a week) will be ‘off-the-job’. This might include attending College, tackling projects, online learning, coaching, shadowing, or training for your job.
Stacks of support
Assessment mostly takes place in the workplace. When you start, you will be allocated a skills coach, who will visit you at least once a month to guide and support you and help you to plan for your future. We will also provide you with specialist support for your English and maths and for any additional needs that you make us aware of.
Qualifications required
Level 3 a minimum of English and maths grades A*- C (9-4) (or equivalent) are desirable OR willingness to complete Functional Skills Level 2 are a requirement to have or to achieve before EPA Gateway.Prior Qualifications: Accounting/Business/Economics - A levels or equivalent but not essential.
