About Us
Treehouse Nursery Schools have been shaping children in early years for 34 years. With multiple Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ ratings, UNICEF Rights Respecting accreditation, and four settings across North East London (including our new Froebel-inspired Wondergarten), we’re proud of the spaces we’ve created – and now we need someone to help us maintain them.
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Facilities Maintenance professional with a clean driving licence to help keep our nurseries safe, well-presented, and in excellent working order.
What You'll Do
You’ll be responsible for carrying out day-to-day repairs, minor improvements, and planned maintenance across all Treehouse sites. Your duties will include:
Fixing and replacing doors, locks, intercoms, and fittings
Minor plumbing and electrical repairs (e.g., leaks, lighting, boiler checks)
General DIY including painting, assembling furniture, and maintaining resources
Garden and outdoor maintenance including fences, play structures, and seasonal tasks
Supporting site safety and carrying out hazard checks, fire warden recommendations, and reporting
Travelling between sites to respond to urgent maintenance requests
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Proven experience in maintenance, caretaking, or similar roles
Good all-round handyperson skills (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrics)
Clean driving licence (D1 category desirable)
Understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH, and safeguarding expectations
Ability to work independently and prioritise urgent tasks
Strong communication and basic IT skills for logging tasks
Desirable:
Experience working in schools or nursery settings
Awareness of EYFS environments
Health & Safety or Facilities Management training (e.g., IOSH)
First Aid or Fire Marshal certification
