About the role
Do you have an excellent understanding and extensive experience in SEND? Are you a skilled and compassionate leader? If so, this may be the opportunity for you. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Senior EHC Assessment and Review Officer for a fixed term period of 2 years. The role is complex, fast paced, varied, and rewarding, advising and guiding our EHC Officers, managing our most complex cases, including representing the LA at mediation and SENDIST appeal, and ensuring that our statutory work is of a high quality and legally compliant. The Team works in line with all the requirements as set out in the SEND Code of Practice and our Senior EHC Officers require a very strong knowledge of SEND legislation as well as an excellent understanding of how young people with SEND can be supported in Education. Due to the range of duties and high expectations for timeliness and communication the EHC Assessment and Review Team has to work very much as a team.
This role will require the successful candidate to be based at 3 Knowsley Place, opposite the Town Hall and to report to the EHC Assessment and Review Team Manager. Normal hours of work are based around the usual business working week.
