Your new company
A public services organisation in Northern Ireland who has appointed Hays to recruit an Area Administrator for their site in Derry. This is a temporary position with full-time hours.


Your new role
This client is seeking an organised, proactive and customer-focused Administrator to join their team. This role is essential in delivering modern, efficient, and professional administrative support across all functions in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and relevant legislation, including the Data Protection Act.

As Area Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, preparing documentation and reports, supporting meetings, managing data systems, and providing exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality administrative support across various departments
- Prepare and collate letters, memos, statistics, reports, and other management documents
- Design, create, and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and digital resources
- Manage both physical and electronic filing systems
- Support meetings through minute-taking, preparation, and follow-up tasks
- Handle correspondence, draft responses, manage mail, and maintain office supplies
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve queries with professionalism


What you'll need to succeed
Essentially, you will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C or above, including English and Maths.

OR four years' experience in an administrative office setting with meeting support responsibilities

At least two years' experience carrying out a wide range of business support duties

Essentially, you will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows applications. Have strong planning, organisational and time management skills. Excellent communication (written and verbal), accuracy, and attention to detail. A team player with a customer service mindset.
