Personal Assistant
Phoebe is a good humoured and colourful individual who enjoys good banter, family, friends, getting out and about, watching their favourite TV programmes. Phoebe enjoys activities such as going out in their car, going to music classes, playing keyboard, watching TV, going to the cinema, going to gay bars, going to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice (PPW), shopping, going to the theatre, art classes.
This role involves supporting Phoebe attend college 3x per week, providing encouragement, attend music sessions 1x per week and art class 1x per week. At the weekends, Phoebes routine is more flexible and activities can vary.
As a personal assistant, you’ll assist with personal and physical care and support, as well as hoisting, driving Phoebes car, pushing their manual wheelchair, supporting Phoebe when using their electric wheelchair, changing them, providing medication support.
Every day is unique, but activities might include going to college, Prince and Princess of Wales Trust, going to The Fort or Silverburn. You may attend the hairdressers/nail salon with Phoebe or simply spend quality time at home. Overall, encouraging and supporting Phoebe to carry out daily activities, leisure activities and supporting Phoebe with their independence
Phoebe would love to work with someone who has a good sense of humour, good banter and who is patient and kind, trustworthy, colourful, and who shows respect to LBTQ+ issues/rights. A clean driving license is required to help with transport as well as experience in hoisting and personal care.
This role is based in Kirkintilloch, so it’s important you can travel to and from the area reliably. Weekly hours are 16 max. (8hr min per shift), availability across 7 days. However, we’re happy to discuss schedule.
Phoebe would like any potential PA to know they live in a busy family household, with other siblings who also have additional support needs who require understanding and tolerance from others.
