The post holder will assist senior staff and clinicians with the provision of individualised nursing care in an outpatient oncology clinic setting.

You will need to be flexible across the service, supporting the team in the achievement of outpatient/cancer care objectives whilst also providing support to relatives/carers. You need to assure the smooth running of oncology outpatient clinics, managing and co-ordinating these clinics efficiently. If you do not possess the skill to venepuncture, cannulate or record ECGs, there is an expected willingness to undertake the necessary training for such.

You will need to be a passionate, dedicated individual who is caring, efficient and hard working and with a passion to work with the fantastic team at the NGS Macmillan Unit.

• Contributetoeffectivecommunicationinthedepartmentbyassistingwithappropriateadministrationduties
• Workwithcolleaguestopromoteaconduciveenvironmentbyassistinginthecontrolofinfection;havinganawarenessofcurrentpractices/policiesandparticipatingindecontaminationduties
• Workwithcolleaguestopromotethedevelopmentofthedepartment’sphilosophy,nursingmodelandagreedwardobjectives.
• Workwithcolleaguestodevelopclinicalexpertiseandcontinuallyimprovestandardsofnursingpractice and maintaingoodworkingrelationshipswithother membersofstaff.
• Liaiseandcommunicaterelevantinformationtoothermembersofthemultidisciplinaryteam
• Assistindevelopingatherapeuticandcompassionateenvironmentandmeetstheneedsofpatients.
• Befamiliarandcomplyatalltimeswithrelevantoperational,personnel,health&safetypolicies,proceduresandprotocolsapplicabletothepost.
