Full Time - Monday-Friday 8am-4.30pm plus OT on occasion

BEAR Scotland is a leading provider of highway maintenance services across Scotland. We manage and maintain over 2,00km of Scotland’s trunk road network, tackling just about every imaginable task and working round the clock to help keep Scotland moving.

The South East Trunk Road Unit spans 506km through some of the busiest sections of the country, from central Scotland to through the Scottish Borders. Trunk roads in the South East range from the major multi-lane motorways across the central belt to roads through villages in the borders.

We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and hardworking Civils Operative to join our Streetlighting Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out groundworks associated with the installation of streetlighting columns and associated infrastructure. You will work closely with electricians and other team members to ensure safe efficient and high-quality installations in line with Health & Safety Regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Excavate and prepare ground for streetlighting column installations
• Install ducting, foundations and associated streetlighting infrastructure
• Reinstatement of footways and carriageways
• Assist Electricians during column erection and cabling
• Operate plant and machinery as required (training provided if necessary)
• Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Standards

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Experience in civils or groundworks (preferred)
• Full UK Driving licence
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Team Player, with a positive and safety conscious attitude.
