Location: Birmingham – One Avenue (Hybrid)
Start Date: 25 August 2025 initially for 3 months - extended after review
Hours: 36.5 per week (Mon–Fri, 08:45–17:15)

About the Role
We’re seeking a motivated Business Support Officer to join the Placement Teams at Birmingham Children’s Trust. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact by providing efficient, proactive and professional support to frontline services focused on the wellbeing of Children, Young People, and Families.
You’ll be responsible for the smooth administration of placement processes, liaising with providers regarding payments, and mentoring junior staff to keep operations flowing. The role includes line management duties, overseeing staffing rotas, and handling escalations with calm confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver timely, accurate administrative support across service functions
Proactively support Social Workers and Trust staff with caseload management
Respond to provider queries regarding unpaid invoices with professionalism
Oversee and guide a small business support team as first point of escalation
Monitor quality assurance of procedures and resolve internal/external issues
Maintain rotas and line manage staff (where required) while mitigating risks
What We’re Looking For
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work flexibly and meet tight deadlines
Previous experience managing or supervising staff
Proven problem-solving and multitasking abilities
Strong administrative skills with a focus on accuracy and organisation
