A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Practitioner in the Walsall ESD/Community Stroke Team/bed based service
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with an interest in stroke to join our excellent established interdisciplinary team. The team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapist, Specialist Nurses, clerical officer and Assistant Practitioners. The team is based in Willenhall, and works in the borough of Walsall.

The successful candidate will assist in the rehabilitation of patients post stroke in their own homes/clinic/bed based service. They will facilitate client participation in their treatment / rehabilitation programmes for Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and nursing in a range of domiciliary settings. They will support the team with data collection and audits to continually improve the service. They will be responsible for organising, prioritising and planning their own workload to meet client and service priorities.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit. A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity, providing almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.
