In November 2025, a fabulous full time nanny role is becoming available in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. This friendly and professional family is looking for a kind, nurturing, fun and reliable nanny who can stay long term and become part of their happy family. Their house is ideally located within walking distance of the town, but on the edge of the countryside.
You will have sole charge care of one delightful baby boy, aged ten months. Mum and Dad both work full time with both attending the office several times a week.
The hours of the role will be Monday-Thursday, 07.00-19.00 and Friday 08.00-18.00 (58 hours/week). There may also be some ad hoc days and babysitting, but any additional hours will be mutually agreed and paid as overtime.
The parents are keen for their little boy to learn and develop in a balanced way, to help him to hit his various developmental milestones – with lots of stimulating and educational indoor fun (reading, singing, jigsaws, craft, imaginary games, etc) mixed with plenty of outside play and walks in the countryside. The parents would like him to attend play dates with friends and educational and fun groups and activities (music group, library, farm, soft play, etc) to allow him to mix with other children, ensuring that he is always happy and safe. You should have a real love and understanding of child development.
As they have a weekly cleaner, this role will be nursery duties only, but some help to keep the house running smoothly would be appreciated – emptying the dishwasher, running the hoover round, making sure all rooms are tidy at the end of the day, etc.
As well as general care of the baby and keeping all areas used clean and tidy (kitchen, his bedroom and playroom, etc), the nursery duties are to include keeping on top of his laundry. While he is a baby, you will wash and prepare feeding bottles. As he grows, you will provide healthy and nutritional meals, homecooked as often as possible. As his needs change, these meals are to be blended if required, with plenty made in advance and frozen for the parents to use with him at the weekends. Knowledge of weaning and potty training is essential.
You will need to be a careful and confident driver with your own fully insured car and a clean licence. Duty mileage will be paid.
There is possible holiday travel with this role in the future.
This is a fabulous role and would suit someone who is happy to make a long-term commitment.
