We’re looking for an Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner to join our vibrant Children & Young People’s team, based at our Young People’s Centre in central Brighton.

You’ll deliver tailored 1:1 and group emotional wellbeing sessions with children aged 8–13 in schools across Brighton & Hove, with a focus on developing emotional literacy, resilience, and coping strategies. You’ll also plan and deliver Year 6 transition workshops and collaborate with families and professionals to ensure joined-up support.

This role sits within our Safety Net team, which has supported children and families since 1995. We work from a trauma-informed and strengths-based perspective, with children’s voices at the heart of all we do.

You will be responsible for:
• Delivering 1:1, group, and class-based emotional wellbeing sessions
• Building trusted relationships tailored to each child’s needs and identity
• Coordinating support with schools, families and professionals
• Managing a caseload and maintaining accurate records
• Following safeguarding procedures and contributing to service development

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
• Experience engaging with children and young people (ideally aged 8–13)
• Understanding of emotional wellbeing, inclusion and child development
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and IT skills, including record-keeping
• A commitment to equality, child rights and anti-discriminatory practice

We’re a flexible, supportive employer. We’re happy to discuss any access needs, working pattern requests or adjustments that would help you thrive in this role.
