Summary

Street Cleansing Operative

Industry: Infrastructure

Location: Isle of Wight

Hours: 40 hours per week (6.00 a.m. - 2.30 p.m.)

Days: 5 days from 7 on a rota basis

Duration: immediate start, temporary, ongoing (may be temp to perm for the right candidate)

Duties:

Driving set routes, vehicle checks and reporting maintenance.

Street sweeping and use of pedestrian barrow.

Litter picking and removal of debris.

Emptying rubbish bins including dog waste.

Clearing gutters, gullies and weeding where required.

Manual handling, maintaining equipment and reporting repairs.


Experience:

Must be physically fit due to nature of tasks.

Must be happy to work outdoors and walk long distances with good knowledge of the Island.

Must be able to work well to instruction, on own initiative as well as part of a small team.

Must have a full driver’s licence and be over 25 due to insurance purposes, Cat C1 license is preferred, Cat C license is an advantage.

Salary: £12.21 (£13.40 if HGV Driver) per hour worked.
