Crynodeb
To assist in the formulation and delivery of care an involving the psychological assessment and intervention of patients and their families on the inpatient ward, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist. Supporting the referral process of the service including managing several complex data sets. Liaising with health professionals referring to the service to gain further details and work alongside qualified psychologists to decide referral appropriateness and how to give feedback to referrers. Maintaining records of referral and outcome measures and producing service data reports. To assist in the coordination and running of teaching to health professionals alongside the team. Presenting at the newly diagnosed information session with MacMillan. To contact patients to ask for verbal feedback on the service they receive and to feedback to the clinical team. To assist in the development of a psychologically focused care to the benefit of all patients and their families, across all settings where care takes place. To attend and contribute as appropriate to multi-disciplinary meetings. To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of patients under their care (under the supervision of a qualified psychologist) and to monitor therapy progress. To communicate effectively with service users, carers, groups, colleagues, managers and workers from other agencies using a variety of means such as verbal, written and electronic communication (e.g. email, databases).
