Job objectives and responsibilities
-To contribute to the effective contract performance by working with the GES/VAHS team to support the implementation of company, MoD policies and strategies in order to achieve the business objectives.

-Full co-ordination and administration supporting the GES supervisor in everyday duties including but not limited to fleet data management on the engineering electronic recording tool, JAMES.

-Demonstrate high standards of workmanship and engineering practices including workshop husbandry, tool and equipment control.

-Support the Mechanical fitter as required, carry out supervision duties as required.

-Act as the GES supervisor in their absence.

Main Duties

-Maintenance, service, repair and modification of the electrical aspects of Ground Support Equipment and Vehicles in accordance with current technical publications held on TDOL, and update JAMES system. Demand spares or consumables through the military supply system.

-Service visiting aircraft to Ascension Island Base, as required.

-Maintain and operate MoD marine craft and associated equipment, (boat handler). In support of ship to shore fuel transfers and pipeline maintenance.

-Maintain the battery charging facility. Demanding replacements in good time.

-Conduct Portable Appliance Testing and maintain register.

-Participate in GES/VAHS on call duty roster as required.

-Collect data as required for reporting requirements.

-Be prepared to undertake training as required to achieve tasks.

Ascension Island, South Atlantic Ocean (ASCN 1ZZ)

-Full Time

-Notice period 2 months

-Hours worked per week - 47.5 hrs

-80 days leave excluding weekends. There will also be an entitlement to local Bank Holidays

-Unaccompanied

-Length of tour 24 months

-Site allowance 5%

-Tour bonus 10%
