Company Background.
Working with a well-established and privately owned 4pl logistics company, who are looking for an experienced Transport Traders to join their operation team. Specialising in managed transport services, who also have their own fleet, the business supports a diverse client base across manufacturing, retail, and logistics sectors throughout the UK and Ireland.
You will be working in a modern well-maintained office with ample parking in Hinckley.
Main Duties.
You will be part of a small team who all work together to succeed. With a vast data base of current and lapsed customers and hauliers, you will have an excellent training schedule and support from day one.
You will on a daily basis build relationships with your customers and hauliers and negotiating rates and contacting and winning back lapsed customers.
You will also resource / allocate loads on a daily basis achieving best possible margin. Ensure deliveries are scheduled on time and in line with customer expectations and monitor delivery performance and notify customers with any delays. You will make sure that all information is accurate and up to date with TMS.
You will have targets to meet which are very achievable.
There is on call currently 1 in 6 weeks.
This is Monday to Friday start times flexible but generally between 07:00 - 09:00 to meet the needs of the business, weekly hours will be 45-hour week, with a PAID BREAK.
What we want from you.
· Previous experience in subcontract haulage or freight brokerage.
· Confident negotiating transport rates with hauliers.
· Strong UK geographical knowledge and understanding of the general haulage market.
· Familiarity with transport regulations (driver hours, WTD, etc.).
· Excellent communication and telephone skills.
· Comfortable using Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
· Confident negotiator, Team player and the willingness to succeed.
· Confident telephone manner.
What’s in it for you?
· Starting Salary of £34.000.
· 30 days Holiday including Bank Holidays.
· After 3 months you will enter the team Bonus Pot, which is banked weekly and paid quarterly.
· After 6 Months a pay rise which will see your Basic rise to £38.000.
· On call payment of £100.
· Paid Break.
· Pension after 3 months.
· Free car park.
· Excellent training schedule.
