The HIV team is recruiting a 12-month fixed term (maternity leave cover) band 7 nurse practitioner in HIV. Using advanced clinical skills the post holder will deliver advanced clinical care to our HIV patients in the outpatient and HIV dayward service.

Based at St Mary’s hospital providing HIV care of the highest quality to over 3,200 patients, this role will best suit a skilled & motivated practitioner who has contemporary, sound theoretical knowledge of HIV with proven interest & awareness in HIV issues.

You will possess excellent communication skills & the ability to prioritise & manage your own workload. You will be expected to have the desire to move the service forward using your detailed knowledge of factors influencing HIV care provision in today’s NHS
• Giving HIV & co-infection diagnoses; offering appropriate support, follow up & partner notification.
• Managing your own nurse led clinics, including treatment support, stable patients etc.
• Providing HIV specialist advice for inpatient & outpatients.
• Acting as a link with Primary care.
• Mentoring junior staff.
• Taking an active role in departmental teaching.
• Audit, research & service development.
• Managing more junior staff.
