HOURS OF WORK
29 hour (average) over a 2-week rota and the shift pattern is as follows:
Week 1 Week 2
Monday 6am -2pm IB Leisure 6am -2pm IB Leisure
Tuesday 3pm - 9pm Pavilion 3pm- 9pm Pavilion
Wednesday - -
Thursday 4pm -10pm IB Leisure 4pm -10pm IB Leisure
Friday 1pm - 8pm Pavilion 1pm -8pm IB/Pavilion
Saturday - -
Sunday 9am - 1pm Pavilion -
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual with a passion for health and fitness to work within the Activ8 teams at IB Leisure and Thornaby Pavilion.

Based in the community our modern facilities, including state-of-the-art fitness clubs, an international standard white-water centre and the North East’s leading Ice Arena provide the perfect environment for Tees Active to promote physical activity with the aim of inspiring active lifestyles, improving health and wellbeing and building stronger communities.
With over 250 team members Tees Active are committed to workforce training and personal development and the successful candidate will apply their knowledge, experience, and training to play an integral part in the future success of Tees Active.
THE ROLE
The role includes: -
• Delivery of health assessments, Member Orientations, and My Wellness programmes.
• Delivery of gym-based activity sessions and the implementation of retention strategies.
• Maintaining a high presence on the gym floor, interacting, and assisting members with their needs.
• Offering advice and guidance to members in relation to new training techniques and methods.
• Membership Sales – show rounds, price presentation and administration duties.
ABOUT YOU
Applicants must hold a recognised Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification. Experience of working within a gym or fitness environment and a Level 3 Personal Training qualification is desirable but not essential.
Applicants must ensure that they can demonstrate that their skills, knowledge, and experience satisfy all the essential elements of the person specification. Any additional fitness qualifications such as Kettle Bell, TRX, GP Referral or Exercise to Music would be advantageous.
