At Pobl Group, this role is best known as Scheme Support Officer. We have an opportunity for a Scheme Support Officer to join Martins Close, our supported housing accommodation in Abercynon. This service provides temporary accommodation and housing-related support to those experiencing homelessness.

This role is full-time (37 hours) and permanent.

For this position, it is essential that the successful candidate has a driver's license and access to a car.

Martins Close delivers intensive housing related support to homeless individuals aged 18 or over.

Our mission is to offer housing-related support and equip our residents with the skills they need to transition to independent living.

Your Role: As a Scheme Support Officer at Marins Close, you will:

Support and Empower: Work closely with up to 15 residents, offering personalised support to help them develop tenancy management skills.
Engage and Connect: Facilitate connections with external services, ensuring residents have access to the resources they need.
Innovate and Inspire: Design and participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, creating a vibrant and supportive community.
Make a Difference: Play a crucial role in each resident's journey towards independence, making every day unique and rewarding.

Our motivation is to ensure we equip individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours who may not always want to engage in the support we have on offer so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental.

Day to Day Duties:

As a Scheme Support Officer, you will work alongside the Project Workers.

Your day will consist of:

Engaging and interacting with the people we support
Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
Wellbeing checks
Organising and participating in internal and external activities
Maintenance checks such as health & safety, fire safety
Cleaning as required
Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have

Part of your role will also include sleep-in shifts at the scheme, where you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen facilities.

Full-time (37hrs), Permanent
Competitive salary of £24,531.00 + £51.11 sleep-in allowance
Shift pattern: the service is staffed 24/7 therefore you will be required to work: Days, sleepings and weekend availability.
Additional payment of £51.11 for each sleep-in
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for
26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays
