About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of planned maintenance and renewable energy works within the social housing sector. This is a permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary and the chance to play a key role in sustainable housing improvements across the Cambridge region.

You will be responsible for managing on-site operations for a range of works including roofing, kitchens, bathrooms, external upgrades, solar PV, heat pumps, and other retrofit initiatives in occupied and void properties. This role requires a balance of technical knowledge, team leadership, and client liaison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day site operations on planned maintenance and renewable energy projects.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and CDM requirements.

  • Carry out site inspections and ensure adherence to project specifications and schedules.

  • Liaise with residents, housing officers, and client representatives to minimise disruption and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Track progress, prepare reports, and contribute to project meetings.

  • Manage site budgets, materials, and documentation.

  • Ensure works meet the standards of energy efficiency and sustainability required for renewable installations.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager in social housing, preferably with planned works and/or retrofit projects.

  • Strong understanding of renewables (e.g. solar, air/ground source heat pumps) and energy-efficient technologies.

  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification.

  • First Aid and CSCS card.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant health & safety legislation and quality standards.

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
