Location: Thorne, Doncaster – The Real Yorkshire Pudding Company (The Compleat Food Group)
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

for a Technical Manager to lead technical compliance and food safety at our Doncaster site, ensuring excellence in quality and
customer satisfaction.
About the Role
As Technical Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind technical performance on site. You’ll ensure all products meet legal,
customer, and group standards, while leading a talented technical team and managing a key retailer account for our pastry
division.
This is a customer-facing role where you’ll represent the business at retailer meetings, audits, and visits, working
collaboratively across multiple sites to deliver safe, legal, and high-quality products.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead the day-to-day technical management of the Doncaster site.
* Own technical performance, ensuring compliance with retailer requirements, legislation, and Compleat Food Group standards.
* Manage and develop a retailer account across multiple sites, acting as the key technical contact.
* Formulate and deliver strategic technical plans to meet both customer and business objectives.
* Build strong cross-functional relationships across site, group, and customer teams.
* Manage customer visits, audits, and product launches, ensuring top-tier audit results.
* Use data effectively to drive performance and continuous improvement.
* Manage the site’s technical budget effectively.
* Contribute as part of the Senior Leadership Team to support the wider business strategy.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
* Degree in Food Science or related discipline.
* HACCP Level 3, Food Safety Level 3, TACCP/Integrity, Lead Auditor.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience:
* Proven technical/quality management experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment (chilled preferred).
* Strong track record in UK retailer management – ideally Tesco, Asda, or Sainsbury’s.
* Experience leading retailer and certification audits.
* Demonstrated customer account management skills.
Skills & Knowledge:
* Strong technical acumen with in-depth food science knowledge.
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Commercial awareness with the ability to influence at senior levels.
* Proficient in MS Office and specification/raw material management systems.
Personal Qualities:
* Passionate about food quality and safety.
* Able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
* Builds trust and credibility with customers and stakeholders.
