Responsibility:
Collecting and consolidating financial performance metrics from various data sources to report against cost, schedule, milestone delivery, and other KPIs, with a particular focus on tracking contract expenditure, accruals, and forecasting.
Conducting detailed trend analysis of financial data, including cost variances, accruals, and forecast accuracy, to identify patterns and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.
Presenting financial performance data and analysis to the Programme Managers or Directors, including root cause analysis of cost deviations, and recommending corrective actions to address financial and programme performance issues.
Providing financial support to the Programme/Project Manager / Deputy Head, including tracking and managing costs, forecasting future expenditure, and ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints, while supporting the resolution of emergent financial issues and risk mitigation.
Processing and reviewing cost and schedule information on projects, including the validation of accruals, contingencies, and financial forecasts to ensure accuracy and alignment with programme objectives.
Assisting the programme managers with resource profiling, including financial resource allocation, cost forecasting, and alignment with the Develop Business Process 0 and other Directorate-specific P3M activities.
Contributing to the development of a robust governance structure to ensure financial accountability, including establishing governance rhythms, defining financial reporting requirements, and engaging stakeholders effectively.
Supporting assurance activities for the SRO by ensuring all financial documentation is aligned with key delivery milestones and gathering financial data from all parties to enable informed decision-making.
Supporting scheduling activities by integrating financial data into project schedules, including cost-loaded schedules, milestone tracking, and critical path analysis, and facilitating workshops to align financial and delivery plans.
Supporting Risk & Issues Management activities by identifying financial risks and issues, maintaining accurate financial risk registers, and conducting regular reviews to update financial risk data.
Ensuring financial data on POL and other systems is accurate and up to date, while providing training and guidance to delivery team members on financial tracking and reporting processes as required.
Developing and providing financial information for all Programme/Project reporting requirements, including Governance Boards and internal reporting activities, and preparing financial materials for board meetings, including secretariat support as necessary.
Providing the Programme/Project Manager with financial situational awareness, including current expenditure, forecasted costs, and any financial issues that may impact project delivery or progress.
