As we expand our culinary offerings, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Breakfast Chef with a strong background in South Indian breakfast dishes. Experience with North Indian breakfast is also valued, but South Indian expertise is preferred.
Job Description:
As a Breakfast Chef, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of traditional South and North Indian breakfast dishes. You will bring creativity, speed, and consistency to the kitchen and ensure our guests enjoy a high-quality, authentic breakfast experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in preparing South Indian breakfasts such as idli, dosa, vada, upma, pongal, chutneys, sambar, and other regional specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of South and North Indian breakfast items to a high standard
Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation areas
Manage breakfast preparation timelines and ensure timely service
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory and ordering
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations
Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain a smooth workflow
Contribute ideas for new breakfast menu items
Mandatory Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Breakfast Chef with a focus on South Indian cuisine
Strong knowledge of South Indian breakfast dishes and preparation techniques
Valid Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 (or higher) certification
Right to work in the UK
Good spoken English
Desirable:
Experience working in Indian restaurants in the UK
Familiarity with vegetarian and vegan dietary requirements
Knowledge of allergen handling and compliance with Natasha’s Law
NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent
First Aid certification
