We have opportunities for two emerging, early career artists or young people who are interested in performance to work with us to create immersive experience as part of our festival in January.
You do not need to have previous experience in festivals or arts. You may just be interested in getting experience in another industry or are just looking for a career change.
As long as you are aged 15-25 and based in Dumfries & Galloway, you can apply for these roles.
Role runs for 25 hours per week running from 13th October 2025 – 25th January 2026 (includes two weeks off at Christmas & New Year).
As part of the training programme, you will work alongside our creative team of lighting, audio and video specialists to develop your own immersive experience which will be staged as part of Northern Lights 2026.
The immersive experience will take place in an empty space on Dumfries High Street and run for 5 days. You will have access to technical resources as well as a production budget to bring your vision to life.
You will also support the development of other immersive experiences as part of the Northern Lights project, working alongside the creative team to develop the entire light festival, working across different teams to get a hands-on festival experience with some of Scotland’s top talent.
A team of professionals will support you to bring your vision to life through a series of workshops which will be designed to help you make your work happen.
Your training will also include
Production Management (including technical design and execution)
Audience Development (including EDI and promotion)
Event Management (including safety and licensing)
