Would you like to be involved in developing an innovative CBT service delivering support directly to the school environment?

In line with the government’s priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the Newham Mental Health Support Team (Wellbeing In Newham Schools Team) is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.

We are looking for confident CAMHS professionals with experience delivering CBT based interventions who are keen to develop their skills in providing evidence based interventions to children, young people and parents both within schools and in CAMHS clinic setting. You will have a demonstrable track record of providing collaborative and supportive interventions with children, young people and parents/carers. You will have professional registration within your chosen profession, for example CWP or EMHP, with practical experience post-qualification. The community served is multi-ethnic and culturally diverse and we welcome applicants who are skilled at working with the richness and complexity of this multicultural context.

We offer an exciting and dynamic environment where your ideas for service development and your career development will be valued. You will be supported directly by senior colleagues.

In addition to the applicants CYP mental health expertise the post holder will be expected to contribute to CPD of the trainee education mental health practitioners (EMHPs), supervision of junior staff, contribution to community development and attendance at education forums such as SENCO and DSL forums. The post holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management and will be required to account for their professional practice through appraisal and audit.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

Please see attached the full job description which will include focus areas ; Clinical skills, Service development, Training , governance and performance.
