This rotation gives experience across a range of services and currently includesAcute inpatient mental health(triage and treatment wards),Community adult mental health services,Home treatment team(HTT),Diagnostic memory services andOlder Adult communityteam . Rotations are 9 months in duration.

Rotations might be further expanded and changed to reflect the needs of our community, the development needs of our therapists and our service needs.

The development of all our Occupational Therapists are important to us. You will have access to peer and professional supervision, monthly educational sessions, CPD-sessions, quality improvement training and early leadership development. We value and celebrate diversity and are interested in any unique skills and life experiences you could bring to the role!

The purpose of this role is to be part of the Senior Occupational Therapy rotation, providing meaningful Occupational Therapy (OT) input across Adult and Older Adult Mental Health services in Newham.

As a rotational therapist, the exact job plan, skills and knowledge depends on the rotation. However, across rotations there is a particular focus on service users’ recovery and social inclusion goals, via both individual and group work. The ability to understand first and foremost what matters to the individual, is central to the role. Sound clinical reasoning drawing on a range of models, theories, lived experience and specialist skills will be developed. It is also important to draw on your dual training in both physical and mental health.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

Kindly refer to the job description and person specification that is attached to the vacancy profile.
