Crynodeb

The Clinical Fellow will work closely with the in-patient and outpatient service both in the main hospital and Addenbrookes centre for Clinical Investigation (ACCI). In addition to supervising their research portfolio they will attend research meetings and will be encouraged to develop a wider interest in the research opportunities on the campus. The post will also involve support of the vasculitis and lupus clinical service with attendance at outpatient clinics and appropriate follow-up of patients including contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings, under the supervision of the Consultants in clinic. At time, the post will require supervised support of the vasculitis and lupus in-patient consult service and liaison with other medical teams within the hospital. The post will have some flexibility to accommodate the successful candidates career aspirations. This might include specific projects initiated by the Clinical Fellow where they lie in the same strategic direction of the group. There will also be opportunities to interact with other specialties in the hospital and take advantage of other educational and training opportunities. Our acclaimed Cambridge Transplant Centre has become one of the largest transplant centres in the UK. We provide highly specialised care for patients with abdominal organ failure for much of the East of England and beyond. In addition to more than 160 kidney transplants (DCD, DBD and LD) each year, the CUH transplant team also performs 20-30 combined kidney / pancreas transplants. The service offers three vasculitis and lupus clinics a week that see patients face to face or remotely and include multi-disciplinary working with rheumatology, respiratory, ear and throat medicine and clinical immunology. Please refer to the Job description and Person specification attached for further details on the main responsibilities and duties for this post.
