Us:
M C Kelly Ltd is an award-winning wholesale butcher supplying quality meat
products across the UK. We operate a busy production site with a wide range of
equipment, from complex thermo-former packing machines and vacuum fillers to
forklifts and cold storage units.
Role
Overview:
We are seeking a Maintenance Apprentice to join our team and develop into a key
part of our operations. This is a hands-on role covering a wide range of tasks,
where no two days are the same. You will learn to maintain, repair and install
a variety of machinery and infrastructure critical to the running of the site.
Key
Responsibilities:
Assist with the maintenance and repair of
production machinery including packing machines, vac packers, and vacuum
fillers.
Support with forklift maintenance and other
site vehicles.
Carry out basic plumbing and electrical tasks
under supervision.
Help with construction, installation, and
commissioning of new equipment.
Support the upkeep of network infrastructure
and site utilities.
Assist with general building maintenance
including roofing and structural repairs.
Work proactively to identify and solve
problems to keep production running smoothly.

A proactive, “can-do” attitude with strong
problem-solving skills.
Willingness to learn a broad range of
maintenance skills.
Practical mindset with good hands-on ability.
Reliable, adaptable, and able to work as part
of a team.
An interest in engineering, mechanics, or
maintenance work is desirable.
Training
& Development:
This is an apprenticeship role, and you will receive structured training in
line with the relevant apprenticeship standard, combining on-the-job experience
with academic study. You will be supported by experienced engineers and
maintenance staff as you develop your skills.
