Fixed Term
NJC scale points 18-22: £30,559 - £32,654 per annum (full time equivalent)
Actual salary pro rata: £24,449 - £26,125 per annum plus SEN Allowance

Part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, New Bridge College provides a learning space and hub for Post-16 students from our 16 - 19 population, based at a campus in the centre of Oldham.
Due to maternity cover requirements, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to support young people onto employment placements and liaise with employers to open up new placements and be responsible for overseeing a small team of Job Coaches. The post holder may also deliver a themed activity on our cross-college enrichment programme.
We would be particularly interested in applicants with previous experience of supporting young people with a range of SEND ranging from ASD, ADHD, MLD, OCD and SEMH. This is also an exciting opportunity for an individual who can demonstrate a genuine interest in educating, supporting and motivating our young people and is looking to work for an organisation which provides opportunities for professional development and progression. We will also consider applications from unqualified practitioners with the relevant experience and qualifications. Due to the complex nature of our students, high levels of emotional and physical resilience are needed in supporting our young people to achieve. However, the knowledge that our work is making a positive impact in helping the students to grow and work towards independence brings great reward.

- Experience of working with young people to overcome barriers to their personal, social or learning development
- A genuine appreciation of the potential barriers to a student’s learning, and sensitivity towards their circumstances and life experiences
- High expectations of young people, and a commitment to raising standards of attainment to ensure that they can achieve their full educational potential
- Experience of developing options and alternatives that will support young people to engage in the learning process
- Experience of planning and delivering work-based learning activities
- Experience of current assessment practice and the use of data and student progress tracking to ensure that all students achieve
- Experience of managing challenging behaviour
- The emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with disaffected and challenging young people with a range of complex needs
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, ensuring consistency and continuity on a daily basis
- A commitment to working effectively with all members of the College team
Although based initially at the New Bridge College, all staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group.

This post will be subject to a number of pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. Salary: NJC scale points 18-22: £30,559 - £32,654 per annum (full time equivalent)

Hours of work: 29 hours 20 minutes per week / Full Year
Based: Initially based at New Bridge College, Pennine House, Union St, Oldham OL1 1JZ
Status: Fixed Term (to cover a period of maternity leave)
