The post has no on call responsibilities. If however to achieve a S12 approval, they may discuss joining the 2nd on call rota with their line manager. Clinical Support the Consultant psychiatrist in the team with their roleTo carry out comprehensive psychiatric assessments and provide treatment for patients. Supporting staff to manage psychiatric emergencies. To conduct patient reviews and provide medical input into Multidisciplinary reviews, CPA reviews and multi-professional meetings. To carry out comprehensive Risk Assessments and participate in Trusts risk management processes such as Health Risk Assessment and Management Meetings (H-RAMM) and Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangement (MAPPA) Meetings. Liaison Maintain high level of effective communication with other parts of the Mental health service across the Trust. Liaison with families / carers. Liaison with aspects of the Criminal Justice System regarding patients. Liaising with other stakeholders and interested parties. The post holder will be expected to maintain effective communication with Access services, community mental health teams, and primary care. Governance Programmed activity time will allow for management and audit of the service and reporting of audit programmes. Regular stakeholder meetings if required Partnership Forums involving service user representatives and advocacy Involvement with critical incident / serious untoward incident reporting and response Training Role in in-house MDT training/education sessions Participation in Research and Clinical Audit Service Development Work with CMHT/CMHF transformation within the Trust WELLBEING There is dedicated Occupation Health based at Trust Headquarters. There is psychological support available for all staff. Physiotherapy services are also available at various sites across Mersey Care. A voluntary peer support service is also in development at Mersey Care NHSFT. There are regular medical social events, which have helped inclusion and wellbeing. There is currently a working group on improving Consultant and Doctors wellbeing. The Trust supports the wellbeing of the postholder after serious incidents that involve patients in their care (e.g. homicide or suicide) with dedicated senior clinician and operational managers providing support and advice as needed after the incident. LEAVE ARRANGEMENTS The post holder would have prorated leave based on FTWE 5 weeks and 2 days (27 days) annual leave days for specialty doctor service up to 2 years and 6 weeks and 2 days (32 days) annual leave for specialty doctor service over 2 years. Study and professional leave will be 30 days over 3 years. This is also prorated. Sick leave entitlement is as per terms and conditions of service, as is paternity and maternity leave will be the same as per terms and conditions of service.
