Do you want to work in a caring and professional environment where patients come first? Are you an enthusiastic, highlymotivatedand hardworking obstetric sonographer, looking to join us for a fixed term to cover maternity leave. #TeamUHD are looking for a sonographer to work in our ultrasound department.
Our obstetric service is delivered atRoyal Bournemouth Hospital in our newly built state of the art maternity unit where we provide obstetric scanning alongside our maternity colleagues. We also scan as part of the Early Pregnancy clinic, various one-stop clinics and provide a7-dayultrasound service.
Wearea friendly, supportive team, responsible for independently performing and reporting ultrasound examinations while ensuring the highest standard of patient care. We strive to deliver the best ultrasound service to ourpatients;we are one teamunited in ourpassion for patient care.
Across the trust there 7 obstetric rooms, 2 Early Pregnancy Clinic rooms and 1 Gynae room. There is a mix of Philips, GE, Canonand Samsung ultrasound systems throughout the department. This is an incredibly exciting time to join us as we transform our services across Dorset.
UHD Radiology department actively encourages CPD, supporting both internal and external educational events. Within ultrasound we promote regular audits, support the training of student sonographers and MSc level qualifications. We are considerate towards protecting staff against RSI with up-to- date ergonomic equipment and ultrasound lists designed to support safe practice. UHD Radiology isUKAS accredited to both Quality Standard for Imaging and BS70000standards.
The successful candidate would need to be able to work both independently and as part of our team whilstdemonstratinghigh levelsof competency. Excellent communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills together with a caring and professional attitude are essential.
The post is a fixed term position based at Bournemouth Hospital . Full time working would be preferred however flexible working would also be considered.

Please note if the role or service is relocated as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Any other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.
