The appointee will be expected to take on the duties of a specialist working in a combination of the below listed specialities which include Urology, Gynae Histology, Breast, Gastrointestinal Pathology and Non Gynae Cytology. The Departments routine workload includes a broad spectrum of screening and diagnostic cases together with network, national and international referral cases. The diagnostic workload within the Department for Cellular Pathology ranges from 28000-33000/year. The exact sessional commitment to the combination of the above subspecialties is currently flexible. St Marks is one of the largest review centres in the UK for GI pathology, especially for polyposis, complex inflammatory bowel disease and cancer cases. The diagnostic workload within the Department for Gastrointestinal Pathology ranges from 13,500-15,000/year. This is a great opportunity for pathologists who wish to consolidate and further enhance expertise in these areas and participate in research and other academic activities.
