About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a high-achieving and ambitious secondary school in Leeds, starting in September 2025. This is a full-time position supporting students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) in a variety of subjects and classroom settings. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact within a high-performing secondary school situated in a scenic and well-connected area.

Essential Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Level 2 qualification (e.g., Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent)
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Relevant experience working in a secondary school setting
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students in mainstream classes and small intervention groups
  • Delivering tailored academic support in English, Maths, and other core subjects
  • Assisting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
  • Preparing learning materials and resources
  • Offering feedback to students to boost confidence and attainment
  • Monitoring student progress and reporting to the class teacher.
  • Assisting with pastoral care and emotional well-being
  • Supervising students during break, lunch, or transitions
  • Supporting classroom management and organisation
